Campaign Story

Hello Everyone. My name is Teiaira and sadly I have experienced two major losses during my fertility journey. I experienced a devastating miscarriage in 2013 at 12 weeks and recently on April 17, 2023, I lost my baby boy Princeton Joseph at 30 weeks pregnant.

A week prior, I was suddenly diagnosed with preeclampsia and was immediately hospitalized. My blood pressure was 200/150. The doctors were trying to keep my son inside for as long as possible while trying to stabilize my blood pressure. But unfortunately my placenta suddenly erupted, instantly killing my baby. I was rushed into surgery for an emergency C-section. I lost too much blood and had to receive a blood transfusion. When I awoke from surgery I met my 3lb 15 inch long baby that looked like he was just sleeping. But he wasn’t. God had called him home. I still do not have the words to describe what I felt in that moment.

A week later I had to leave the hospital without my pride and joy. That was the worst feeling I have ever experienced in my life. The following year was horrible. Between being abandoned by his dad along with most of my then friends, I didn’t know whether I was coming or going. But somehow, I kept my faith with the exception of moments when I questioned/cursed God. I’m not proud of those moments but I’m human. Even with my flaws, God carried me! I thank God for my mom, best friend, counselor, my Obgyn and my true family and friends that stood by my side.

Fast forward to now, I have done the work to heal as much as humanly possible and I would love nothing more than to have my Double Rainbow Baby. I know that my Princeton can NEVER be replaced and I WILL NEVER attempt to do so but I still want to be a Mommy more than anything. I want to hold, feed, raise and nurture my baby. The only thing that stands in my way is the cost of fertility treatments. I am almost 37 years old, high risk and I am single, therefore my physician is suggesting IUI via donor sperm.
